Adventures in Oral History

Next week's Camas Courier will feature an interview I did with Doris Cox. She shared about attending the Corral Creek and Washington Avenue Schools on the Camas Prairie in the 1930s. I also had the chance to talk to my husband's uncle, Claude Ballard, about some of his memories and the stories his father handed down to him. Charlie Gaskill, my father-in-law's uncle, recently reminisced about growing up near the town of Crichton, no longer in existence. It seems that just as a few puzzle pieces fall into place, a new mystery crops up. That's historical research! And it's half the fun.
