My Bead & Button article is here

You can view my article, "A People's Pride," in the February 2008 issue of Bead & Button Magazine here: http://www.beadandbutton.com/BNB/default.aspx?c=a&id=2776. Click on the link, then click on the pdf link. I learned so much about beadwork, the Shoshoni-Bannock tribe, and article writing while doing this piece. Editor Ann Dee Allen has been great to work with. The print edition of the magazine is so glossy and professional! Flipping through it, I was so impressed with the artists' creativity and patience. Pick it up at a newsstand if you get a chance. I may be doing other profiles of beadwork artists for this market in future.

I'm reading John Grisham's The Last Juror (2004). It's a lot of fun because it's about a small-town newspaper, a lot like some of the weeklies here in Southern Idaho. The main character purchases the paper, then plunges into brave coverage of a touchy murder trial in Ford County, Mississippi. If you're working at a small-town paper, I recommend this read.
